Work With Me
Introduction
When human beings experience life stressors, it is not uncommon for their lives to unravel. Hi, my name is Yvonne Roberto. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate in Washington.

Seeing people change, grow, and improve is inspiring to me. Helping them to achieve this is my greatest reward.

I honor the chance to connect with you, help you overcome challenges, and celebrate the successes. I would love the opportunity to help you in this capacity.
Educational Background
I obtained my Master of Science in Counseling from Grand Canyon University-online and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Fayetteville State University in Fayetteville, North Carolina.

My counseling experience stems from working in community-based mental health settings; starting in group homes, working with developmentally delayed individuals, autistic males, to outpatient treatment, crisis, and psychiatric facilities. At one point, I worked as a licensed clinical addiction specialist, helping those with addiction and problems related to addiction.

As I furthered my education, my role as a clinician changed and evolved.
Services & Specialities
My work begins with forging trust with you. The relationship we share is key to our work together and I believe our time together is special.

My approach involves building a strong therapist-client alliance. It is my goal to help you not just manage symptoms, but restore, rebuild, and empower you. I strive with confidence to help those who suffer from stressful, overwhelming, traumatic experiences, as well as relationship issues, and other life difficulties. My goal is to offer a safe/therapeutic place where healing and discovery can take place.

Depending on your situation, I will incorporate a variety of theories/approaches, including elements of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), person-centered, strengths-based, and Motivational Interviewing. Unconditional Positive Regard is a concept from Humanistic Psychology introduced by Carl Rogers that means complete, nonjudgmental acceptance and support for a person. When people feel heard, cared for, supported, and embraced, they can succeed and begin to lead fulfilling and purpose-filled lives.
