Tammy Hargett

Welcome! My name is Tammy Hargett and I hold a Doctorate in Behavioral Health, a Masters in Addiction Psychology, I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate, and a Substance Use Disorder Professional. I have worked in the substance abuse and behavioral health fields as well as in education.
You matter, your mental health matters. I approach every client with an open mind and ready to help think outside the box. I believe the whole person matters, not just placing one piece of the puzzle in the correct spot. To truly understand oneself is to find a proper place for all the puzzle pieces to create a beautiful picture (metaphorically). I am big on teaching self-love, self-reliance, self-awareness, and self-care. I like to dig deep, while always meeting the client where they are. I believe trauma-informed care is key to unlocking vulnerabilities and to begin the healing process.
I work with all ages and all genders. I have a deep understanding of the LGBTQIA+ community. I use CBT, DBT, motivational interviewing, and humor when appropriate. No judgment, nothing you say will shock me. I would love to meet you.
